Poland is becoming increasingly attractive for foreign specialists, especially in key sectors such as information technology, finance, construction, healthcare, and education. The country is emerging as a technological hub in Central and Eastern Europe, consistently looking for programmers, analysts, and cybersecurity experts. Simultaneously, the development of business service centers such as BPO/SSC means that professionals in accounting, finance, and HR have many opportunities for development here. Polish companies are also heavily investing in infrastructure, increasing the demand for engineers, architects, and skilled manual workers. In the healthcare sector, there is a growing need to employ doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists, while educational institutions regularly seek foreign language teachers and academic lecturers.
Life and Work in Poland – 2025
(Current Report)
On January 10, 2025, the Department of the Labor Market at the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy released a brochure entitled “Life and Work in Poland – 2024”. This document provides comprehensive information on the living and working conditions in Poland, employment, running a business, as well as the levels of income, wages, taxes, and social security contributions. The brochure was prepared within the EURES network, which provides European Union labor market mediation and advisory services. It is addressed to citizens of European Union countries and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) who are planning to start a professional career in Poland. Due to the exceptional situation caused by the war in Ukraine, the brochure also includes dedicated informational sections for Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022, and who benefit from the provisions of the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
